One of the goals of Best Practice in Surgery is to encourage research in quality and knowledge translation and use this platform to perform clinical trials when evidence is lacking. To date, the Best Practice in Surgery has undertaken research with the Institute of Clinical Evaluative Studies (ICES) to better understand readmission rates for various procedures across the University of Toronto affiliated hospitals.
